January 21, 1944 Richmond VA Married 2 After IHS, I worked for many years as an Admin and then retired at 55. I married Vince in '65 and we have two children, Jeff and Kristen and six grandchildren who bring us a world of joy. We have been in Richmond, Virginia for the past 30 years and love it. The weather is great most of the time and I love being outdoors either walking the dogs or working in the garden. I'm heavily involved with an animal rescue group which takes up a lot of my time. We have traveled quite a bit and hope to do more in the coming years.
It’s hard to believe that almost 50 years have gone by!  The Reunion Committee has done a fantastic job locating classmates, and I’m greatly looking forward to our 50th Reunion and seeing old friends.

March 30, 1943 Zionsville IN Married 2 West Hill Boynton Boynton Still procrastinating. But here goes:

Spurred by a sense of adventure and a deep desire to be far enough away that I had to do my own laundry, I headed off to the University of Rochester. Loved the whole liberal arts concept. Found IHS had prepared me well for all the many majors I sampled. Met Cork, a Renaissance man and ultimately my husband of 46 years (and counting). Spent a summer in Europe on the Experiment in International Living. Masters at University of Michigan. Another fine educational experience and season tickets for the Big House. Married. Taught. Added 2 daughters to the mix. Moved from Northeast to Midwest and back again as Cork’s career required. Opted to stay home and raise our girls. Baked bread. Never did master a really good rye loaf. Grew tomatoes in Michigan, Connecticut, Ohio and New Jersey. Got pretty good at handling the household emergencies that always seemed to occur when Cork was traveling. As the girls grew, I moved on to queen of the volunteers. Cut my organizational teeth on book fairs and ice cream socials. Graduated to Girl Scouts, Red Cross and local rec program. Taught a mess of Red Cross courses. Trained a couple of generations of lifeguards and swimming instructors. Ran trips for teens. Backpacking, canoeing, camping. Taught primitive camping skills to adults. Dabbled in politics and not-for-profit boards of directors. Lived in Singapore for several years. Saw a lot of places, exotic and mundane. Have boxes of photos yet to be dealt with. Currently living on a barrier island outside Charleston, South Carolina. No longer planting tomatoes and now content to stay stateside and photograph the adventures of our 9 grands, all of whom live in Indiana. And so the adventure continues…..
Terrific website! It’s been great fun to follow. Thanks to all who've worked so hard on this.

March 09, 1943 Ithaca NY Retired teacher Married 2 Whitpain Township, PA Boynton Junior High Boynton I entered Cornell as a math major, left as a history major, married David, did my student teaching back at IHS and taught at a private girls school in Baltimore while David did a year of graduate work at Johns Hopkins. We returned to Ithaca where I became a PhD candidate in history and was a teaching assistant for two years. We moved to Tucson, Arizona in 1970, with a six-month old daughter where David was teaching History of Science, at the University. Our second daughter was born there and I used a nice spousal policy to earn a Masters Degree in Library Science and took courses to become certified in Elementary Education. I worked as an elementary school librarian for two years and we returned to Ithaca in 1979 when David became the Curator of the History of Science Collection which was then in Olin Library. Back in Ithaca, I worked as a librarian for a year at DeWitt, taught math, social studies and reading at Boynton for 6 years and then taught US History and economics at IHS for the next 18 years, most of it teaching the Advanced Placement course. Briefly I also did a course on Native Americans a long-standing interest of mine. Those years also included lots of committee work, brief spells on boards at the public library and the History Center.

Both my daughters developed an interest in horses at an early age and many years were spent as a “horse-show mother. I’m still at it, now as a “horse-show grandmother”. Our older daughter after a BS and MA from Cornell (where she also played polo), a Masters from the University of London, and several years with the government in Washington, got her PhD from Berkeley, spent two years on a post-doc in England and is now teaching Environmental Economics at Mount Holyoke. She and her husband have two young sons whom we have enjoyed finding excuses to visit both in the states and England. Our younger daughter after graduating from Cornell (she too played polo and was on the Equestrian team though working full time) established a horse business, training, boarding and showing ponies and horses here in Ithaca which gives us a chance to spend time with her, her husband, and our granddaughter.

Other than enjoying the grand kids, I am still President of the Northeastern Welsh Pony Association, spend much time, especially in the summer at horse shows, work at the polls come election time, do a fair bit of knitting, quilting, much reading, and a bit of travel. David is still working full time.  We celebrate our 48th wedding anniversary this year.

May 14, 1943 Monroe NC Retired Married 3 South Hill, St. John Boynton Jr. High School Boynton After High School, I attended the Williamsport (PA) Community College (2yrs.) for Business Data Processing. Then I moved to Harrisburg, PA, to work for a construction company for about 2 years. Next, we moved to Ithaca, working for Cornell, writing programs for several applications. Then we moved to Charlotte, North Carolina, writing programs. Next, I got another AAS degree, but in Architectural Drafting. I went back to programming for almost 2 years. In 1980 we moved to Charlotte, North Carolina, to work as a Programmer/Operator for almost five and a half years. I then worked with mentally and physically challenged people for about one and a half years. Then, in 1992 to 2002, I was a "counter clerk" for a stereo repair company. Last, I worked in mall security for one and a half years. Then, at last, I retired!
1)  Electronics is both my interest and my hobby.  I enjoy recording DVD's for myself and anyone else (I know) with the same interests.
2)  Also, playing the drums is a hobby, but in the 70's and 80's it was my profession to help earn income, since my wife worked during the day.  So playing in a night club enabled us to pay the bills, etc.  While doing that, I was also taking a correspondence course to learn drafting.
3)  I also enjoy sports, especially college and pro football.  In addition, I like to go to various vintage car shows that are held in our area during good weather conditions.  I like to take photos of the really "cool" muscle cars.
